What exactly is the Amphitheatre?

Greek Style outdoor theatre in shaded natural setting located on the banks of the Grand River behind Galt Collegiate Institute and Vocational School in Cambridge.


Adjacent to Dan Spring Way waterfront trail - used by students and public - connecting “The Delta” (Augusta Street), past Mill Race Park, to downtown Cambridge and beyond.


GCI Amphitheatre Facts


Space includes:

  • Seating for 400

  • Concrete stage with room underneath (for audio-visual equipment, additional chairs and a dressing room) and sturdy truss system above for lighting and set design.

  • Accessible with stairs and ramp from above and waterfront trail from below

  • Construction completed in 1978
